Sales Commission Calculator
Calculate a flat-rate commission on an entered sales base. Includes a worked example, formula and practical FAQs.
Formula: Commission = sales × commission rate
How to use the Sales Commission Calculator
Calculate a flat-rate commission on an entered sales base. Use the commissionable sales amount specified by your agreement.
Formula
Commission = sales × rate / 100; revenue after commission = sales − commission.
Worked example
$8,000 commissionable sales at 7.5% produce $600 commission and $7,400 remaining revenue.
Interpretation and limitations
The remaining revenue is not net profit. This tool does not model tiers, quotas, caps, clawbacks or exclusions for tax and refunds.
Sales Commission questions
Should the base include tax or shipping?
Use the definition in the commission agreement; this calculator does not determine which amounts are commissionable.
Can I calculate tiered commissions here?
Calculate each tier separately and add the commissions. Applying the top rate to all sales may overstate the amount.
