CTR Calculator
Calculate the share of impressions that generated clicks. Includes a worked example, formula and practical FAQs.
Formula: CTR (%) = clicks ÷ impressions × 100
How to use the CTR Calculator
Calculate the share of impressions that generated clicks. Use clicks and impressions from the same campaign, period and reporting definition.
Formula
CTR (%) = clicks ÷ impressions × 100.
Worked example
250 clicks from 10,000 impressions give a 2.5% click-through rate.
Interpretation and limitations
Impressions must be positive. Mixing unique clicks with total impressions, or mismatched date ranges, can distort comparisons. Values above 100% should prompt a review of event definitions.
CTR questions
Is CTR a conversion rate?
No. CTR measures clicks per impression; conversion rate measures completed actions per chosen traffic base.
What counts as a good CTR?
It depends on placement, channel and intent. Compare campaigns with similar definitions instead of treating one benchmark as universal.
