ROAS Calculator

Measure attributed advertising revenue per unit of ad spend. Includes a worked example, formula and practical FAQs.

ROAS—
ROAS percentage—

Formula: ROAS = revenue attributed to ads ÷ ad spend

How to use the ROAS Calculator

Measure attributed advertising revenue per unit of ad spend. Enter revenue attributed to the campaign and spend for a matching reporting and attribution window.

Formula

ROAS = attributed revenue ÷ ad spend; ROAS percentage = ROAS × 100.

Worked example

$2,000 attributed revenue from $500 spend gives 4× ROAS, or 400%.

Interpretation and limitations

Ad spend must be positive. ROAS measures revenue efficiency, not profit; product costs, refunds, taxes and overhead can change profitability. Attribution across channels can double-count sales.

ROAS questions

Does 4× ROAS mean 400% profit?

No. It means $4 of attributed revenue per $1 spent. Profit depends on all other costs.

What ROAS is profitable?

There is no universal threshold. Use your contribution margin to estimate break-even ROAS, then consider fixed costs and attribution quality.
